The New Body Language (2000)

Fanfare of the Ice Hockey World Championships '81
Cornelius Crane
Graduation Angel
Foolin' Around
Nosferatu

The New Body Language was recorded and released during the ongoing sessions for A Century of Song. It features five original songs that herald the new era of LMP (la musique populaire).

'Fanfare of the Ice Hockey World Championships' is the title of a song written in 1981 by Benny and Bjorn of ABBA. LMP had not heard the song but took the title wrote this song imagining what it might sound like.

'Cornelius Crane' is the birth name of actor Chevy Chase, though the song itself is not necessarily about him. It was written with 'Gimme Three Steps' by Lynyrd Skynyrd in mind.

'Graduation Angel' would be even better if Saint Etienne did it. The title came from a religious gift catalog, and at first the song sounded much more like Billy Joel than it ended up.

'Foolin' Around' was originally written around '98 but was substantially revisited for this release. It is in the tradition of classic double-entendre bubblegum pop and would be a perfect song for Ron Dante.

'Nosferatu' is an homage not to the horror film monster but to a German prog-rock band from the mid-70s.
